Short answer

Swapping into a pump.fun coin inside Phantom costs Phantom's 0.85% fee on most swaps, plus pump.fun's on-chain fee (1.25% on the bonding curve) and network fees, so a $1,000 curve buy costs about $21.00 in fees. pump.fun's 0.45% Platform Fee does not apply. Connecting the same Phantom wallet to pump.fun instead costs $17.00 (Platform Fee, no Phantom fee), and to Jupiter in Manual mode $12.50 (Phantom help center, checked 4 Nov 2026).

What Phantom is

Phantom is a self-custodial wallet for Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Bitcoin and other chains, on iOS, Android, a browser extension and the web. Besides holding coins it has built-in swaps, Hyperliquid-powered perps, prediction markets and a Cash stablecoin account.

There are three ways to use Phantom for pump.fun coins, and they cost different amounts:

HowFees you pay (bonding-curve coin)$1,000 buy
Swap inside Phantom0.85% Phantom + 1.25% curve$21.00
Connect Phantom to pump.fun0.45% Platform Fee + 1.25% curve$17.00 ($16.50 with a code)
Connect Phantom to Jupiter, Manual mode1.25% curve only$12.50

Network fees and price impact come on top in every case.

How to buy a pump.fun coin in Phantom

  1. Install Phantom from phantom.com or the official app stores. If you want its referral rebate, apply a code during sign-up in the mobile app; it cannot be added later.
  2. Write down the recovery phrase offline, or set up Google/Apple recovery.
  3. Fund the wallet with SOL (from an exchange, or with a card in the app).
  4. Open Swap, paste the coin’s contract address (most pump.fun mints end in pump), check it matches the coin page you trust, enter an amount and confirm. The quote shows the Phantom fee and price impact.

Fees in Phantom

  • Phantom fee: 0.85% on most swaps, buys and sells.
  • pump.fun Platform Fee: not charged. It applies only in pump.fun’s own app and web.
  • pump.fun on-chain fees: charged. 1.25% on the bonding curve; 1.25% falling to 0.30% in the PumpSwap pool after graduation.
  • Network fees are paid in SOL; some swaps are gasless with a flat fee taken from the token.

Custody and KYC

Phantom is self-custodial: you hold the recovery phrase (or a Google/Apple-based recovery), and Phantom cannot move your coins. No KYC is needed for the wallet; the Cash account and card need identity checks in some regions.

Chains and availability

The wallet works worldwide. Perps are unavailable in the US and UK, tokenized stocks in the US, UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Phantom dropped Monad in August 2026 and Sui in September 2026.

Phantom’s referral gives you 10% of your eligible Phantom trading fees back for 3 months, paid to your Cash balance, only if you sign up in the mobile app with the code. We earn 25% of the net fees Phantom receives from your trades for those 3 months.

Risks

  • Most pump.fun coins lose most of their value. Check a coin first.
  • Wrong token: anyone can create a coin with the same name and ticker. Always swap by contract address taken from a page you trust.
  • Drainer approvals: never sign transactions on sites you reached from DMs or ads; Phantom shows a warning for known malicious sites, but not every one.

Computed with our fee engine from each app's documented base rate, without referral discounts unless noted. Bonding curve: pump.fun's 1.25% curve fee (0.30% creator + 0.95% protocol) applies on every app. Large graduated coin: the canonical PumpSwap pool at its lowest tier, 0.30% (market cap of 98,240 SOL or more); small graduated coins pay 1.25%, the same as the curve. Platform Fee: pump.fun app and web only, 0.40% with a referral code (pump.fun Fees page, last updated 17 Oct 2026). *fomo on Solana charges a flat $0.95 on orders of $47.50–190 and 0.50% from $190; it also pays your Solana network fee. Jupiter Ultra, the default, charges 0.5% on coins under 24 hours old (assumed for bonding-curve coins) and 0.1% after (assumed for large graduated coins); Manual mode adds no Jupiter fee but leaves slippage to you. Solana network and priority fees, slippage and price impact come on top everywhere and are not shown.
