Short answer

pump.fun's ecosystem account said on 6 November 2026 that creators can now launch coins paired with $MNST and pay Holder Rewards in it. The post names no issuer, but on-chain data points to a Backpack Securities token tracking Monster Beverage stock, which Backpack's issuer disclosure says is not offered to US citizens, residents or entities.

What happened

@PumpfunEco, an official pump.fun account, posted at 19:12 UTC on 6 November that “Monster pairs” are live. A creator can launch a coin priced in $MNST instead of SOL or USDC, which pump.fun calls a custom pair, and can turn on Holder Rewards so holders receive MNST.

The post gives no contract address. The token we matched is the mint MNSTy46haEN7sEaeXAWBXG6zHaRikCvqf3krAEDzxr2, named “Monster Beverage - Backpack Securities”, with metadata hosted by Backpack. DexScreener shows new coins on pump.fun’s bonding curve, its launch-stage pricing formula, paired with that mint from 19:07 UTC. We have not tested the feature, and we found no statement from Monster Beverage. The post uses its logo, which does not show that the company is involved.

What it costs

The post gives no fees. pump.fun’s Fees page, last archived on 31 October, charges custom-pair coins a flat 1.25% on the curve and 0.30% in the canonical PumpSwap pool, the main pool after graduation. With Holder Rewards on, the creator sets a flat rate from 0.01% to 3% that replaces the creator fee, so totals run from 0.96% to 3.95% on the curve and from 0.26% to 3.25% in PumpSwap.

App and web trades add the Platform Fee, pump.fun’s own charge: 0.45%, or 0.40% with any valid referral code. Every valid code gives the same rate. See all pump.fun fees.

What MNST is

Backpack describes its tokens as redeemable 1:1 for the underlying share. Its issuer disclosure is narrower: the token is a “digital receipt”, and an on-chain holder has no redemption rights until registered with the issuer, Trek Nexus Markets, after identity checks.

That disclosure says the tokens are not offered or sold, directly or indirectly, to US citizens, residents or entities. pump.fun’s post does not address this, so people in the US should not assume they can hold MNST or receive it as a reward. pump.fun also prohibits the UK and sanctioned places.

On-chain, a single key can freeze accounts, pause transfers and move balances; transfers were not paused when we checked. pump.fun has not said what happens to MNST-paired pools or payouts during a pause.

What it means for traders

Your rewards are tied to a second asset that can move or stop on its own. A coin’s Holder Rewards rate can’t change after launch except through a community takeover, and rewards are paid net of distribution costs and may never be paid. Copycats exist: at least one other Solana token uses the same name and ticker, and some new coins paired with MNST also use its ticker, so match the full address. Most memecoins lose most of their value. Check a coin before buying.
