Short answer

Since 17 October 2026, every trade placed in the pump.fun web app or mobile app pays a Platform Fee of 0.45%, or 0.40% if your wallet has a referral code applied. It comes on top of the 1.25% curve or PumpSwap pool fee. It isn't charged on Terminal, third-party apps, aggregators or perps.

What changed on 17 October 2026

As late as its 8 October 2026 version, pump.fun’s Fees page said that none of its web or mobile apps “charge any fees in addition to those above on Solana trades”. The version dated 17 October 2026 added a Platform Fee:

Your walletPlatform Fee
No referral code applied0.45% of the trade
Another user’s referral code applied0.40% of the trade

It is charged in addition to the pool fees (creator, protocol, LP), to the EVM fee on EVM-chain trades and to any bridge, swap or network fees.

What it applies to

Charged on: every trade you place in the pump.fun web app or mobile app, including:

  • the first buy a creator makes when launching a coin;
  • limit and other conditional orders, charged when they execute at the rate in force when you placed them.

Not charged on:

  • Terminal (formerly Padre), pump.fun’s own pro trading app;
  • third-party apps: terminals such as Axiom and GMGN, Telegram bots, wallets such as Phantom, aggregators such as Jupiter;
  • perps orders, which carry a separate builder fee of up to 0.05%.

It is collected in the asset you spend or receive (SOL or USDC), deducted from your spend or your proceeds, and shown as a separate line before you confirm. pump.fun can reduce or waive it for particular wallets, programs or periods.

The fee calculator handles any market cap and compares every app.

Is it worth trading elsewhere to avoid it?

On fees alone, usually not. The Platform Fee is lower than most alternatives’ own fees:

WhereApp layer on top of pool fees
pump.fun app0.45% (0.40% with a code)
Axiom1% (0.9% for referred users)
GMGN, Trojan, BONKbot, Bloom, Maestro1% (Trojan and Bloom 0.9% referred)
Phantom swap0.85%
fomo0.50% (0.45% referred) from $190; flat $0.95 at $47.50–190; 2% below
Jupiter Ultra0.5% on tokens under 24h old, 0.1% otherwise
Jupiter Manual mode0%
Terminalnot published

Terminals are built for speed and tooling, not low fees (pump.fun app vs terminals). Each app’s rate is sourced on the fees page.

Where the money goes

Without a referral code, pump.fun keeps the whole fee. With one, part of it is routed on-chain to the referrer’s “Referral Vault” as part of your trade. The referrer’s share is set by pump.fun and can change at any time, including to zero:

  • from 16 October 2026: the whole fee, during a launch “4x boost”;
  • from 1 November 2026: 37.5%, i.e. 0.15% of a referred user’s volume. pump.fun says the other 62.5% goes to its Callout Rewards pot and in-app incentives.

pump.fun’s two referral programs covers the details. Your rate is the same 0.40% whichever code you use, so the code only decides who gets the share (referral codes, honestly). Pages promising bigger discounts from special codes are wrong (why fake codes mislead).

How big it is

DefiLlama’s pump.fun mobile-app tracker showed $1.89 million of fees on $420.5 million of volume over the 30 days to 4 November 2026, an average of 0.45% that matches the fee. Most pump.fun coin volume never touches the app: the curve and PumpSwap together did about $12.7 billion in the same period, mostly through terminals, bots and aggregators that don’t charge the Platform Fee.
