pump.fun Terms: fee rises no longer need 14 days' notice
pump.fun's Terms of Use dated 17 October 2026 drop the 14 days' advance notice they used to require before a fee increase: fee changes now take effect when the Fees page is updated. The same revision adds section 4.9, which lets pump.fun change a referrer's fee share at any time, down to zero and including for wallets already referred, and section 30B on perps.
Fee changes: no more advance notice
In the 8 October Terms, a change that increased fees counted as a material change, and section 14.1 promised at least 14 days’ notice before it took effect. The 17 October version rewrites section 4.4: pump.fun “may adjust our fees, and introduce new fees,” and a change “takes effect when the amended Fees Page is published or on any later date stated,” with no advance notice required. The Platform Fee itself arrived this way, published on the day it started (our story). Because fees can now move without warning, we log every change we find in the archived Fees page on our fee change log.
Referral codes and the fee share (section 4.9)
The 8 October Terms did not mention referrals at all. The new section 4.9 says:
- Your referral code is your pump.fun username. One code can be linked to a wallet at a time, and pump.fun “may treat the association as permanent once made.”
- A share of the Platform Fee paid by referred wallets goes to the referrer’s on-chain “Referral Vault.” pump.fun sets that share, and it “may be increased, reduced (including to zero) or otherwise changed by us at any time, with or without notice, including with respect to Referred Users already associated with your Referral Code.”
- Referrers may not buy ads that include their code or the pump.fun name without consent, promise earnings, offer inducements or refer themselves, and must disclose that they are paid a share of fees where the law requires it.
- The program is closed to prohibited jurisdictions, which include the UK.
The referred wallet pays 0.40% instead of 0.45% whichever valid code it uses. More on how this works: pump.fun referral code.
Perps (section 30B)
The update also adds the Perpetuals Feature, which routes orders to Hyperliquid and is closed to the United States and Ontario. See our perps story.
How we verify: every entry is checked against a primary source (pump.fun's Fees page, Terms or posts, read through Internet Archive copies; a court filing; or the project's own announcement), chain data, or at least two independent reputable outlets before it is published. PumpFYI is independent and not affiliated with pump.fun. Most memecoins lose most of their value; check a coin before you buy. All news · Methodology
